The Daily Princetonian - Students, community members protest Rice's visit

Do liberals support the troops or don't they? It's hard to tell when Sue Niederer, protesting Condi Rice's speech at Princeton, calls them "military idiots".

Sad.

One-Fifth of High School Seniors Fail California Exit Exam - Los Angeles Times

Barring students with developmental delays, the complaints against the California mandatory high school exit exam is pathetic. These tests are for 8th grade math and 10th grade English skills.

What's most amusing is D'Janay O'Neal's quote that "no matter what happens, I'm going to college...to further my education."

D'Janay has a 2.0 GPA. Unless she decides to go to West Hollywood Upstairs College, she's going to sink in higher ed with those grades.

Good news from Iraq?

The news from Publius that that the largest Sunni political group is preparing for December elections is promising news regarding the potential of the Iraqi constitution passing.

Bill Bennett's remarks

I don't see the hubbub about Bill Bennett's remarks regarding aborting black babies to reduce crime.

1) What he said was technically true.
2) It was to illustrate reductio ad absurdum.
3) Most importantly, he immediately said that it would be "impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible".

Case closed.

And how the Republican party got dragged into this is beyond me.

Attack on Darfur Camp Leaves 29 Dead

I cannot believe that the U.S. has allowed the attacks in Darfur to continue.

It needs to stop, one way or another, and the U.S. must take the lead as the most powerful nation in the world.

More on the New Orleans hysteria

The LA Times reports on the wild exaggerations of death, rape, rioting, you name it, after Hurricane Katrina. Instead of taking the blame for incompetent and careless reporting, journalists decided to blame their mistakes on "telephone breakdowns" and race.

OK, we believe you. Just feed us more of that pablum, why don't you?

Even the most hysterical bloggers are perhaps coming around to the fact that things weren't nearly as bad as they appeared.

Bible-thumpers in court

Seems like the Bible-thumpers in Pennsylvania are in court to defend the Dover Area School District's decision to bring Creationism into the classroom as an alternative model to evolution.

Laughable.

Louisiana Goes After Federal Billions

It seems that pork knows no party line and Louisiana is going whole-hog for every last drop of federal funds it can get.

Disgusting that the leaders of Louisiana should take advantage of the generosity shown by their fellow Americans.

Rumors as fact

Looks like the reports of mass rape and death at the Superdome were exaggerated.

Anything to make news, eh?

Schizophrenics

The biggest problem with leftys is that they can't get a straight message across. Instead, they look like a bunch of feckless schizophrenics who can't even agree amongst themselves. Take this protest by these selfsame schizos. What began well enough as an anti-war protest quickly devolved when an anti-Israel protestor got into the mix. Suddenly, an Arab-Israeli conflict broke out amongst the protestors.

I'd suggest avoiding reading the rest of the article for your own protection.

Good riddance

Abu Azzam, the number two man of al-Qaeda in Iraq, has been killed by U.S. special forces. Undoubtedly a significant blow to al-Qaeda and the terrorists there.

Whew!

What a nail-biter! I was really freaked out when the Cowboys went down so early in the game, but they pulled through, winning34-31.

Now, if they can only win 2 in a row...

More AP anti-Israeli bias

Today's news that Israel began operations against Hamas because of rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel blames Israel for the escalation that "threatened to derail a...seven-month-old truce."

Amazing. I guess 35 rockets from the 'newly liberated' and 'self-governing' Gaza Strip isn't an escalation to the AP.
