Giuliani's Startling Departure - New York Sun Politics

Troubling. I like Rudy and would gladly vote for him, but his campaign departed from his well-known position as a civil union supporter. As it says later in the article:
"Why would you want to take a position where you are splitting hairs, when you have been so consistently on the record as for civil unions?" a Republican pollster reached for comment yesterday evening by the Sun, Tony Fabrizio, asked. "You can't turn around at the eleventh hour and say this comes a little too close to marriage and then not support it."
I imagine Rudy will have to do some clarifying here.

Army Officer Accuses Generals of 'Intellectual and Moral Failures' - washingtonpost.com

A highly critical indictment of US generals and their handling of the Iraq conflict, as written by Lt. Col. Paul Yingling.

I've been fairly unhappy with the handling of the post-invasion rebuilding of Iraq. The one thing I certainly know we should have done is to have had more troops on the ground to solidify security in the aftermath of Saddam's deposing.

Joseph Lieberman

He is just about the most principled, intelligent, and upstanding person in the Senate.

Clinton: US might have to confront Iran | Jerusalem Post

So, Hillary thinks that the military option against Iran is still open? Exactly when might the U.S. exercise that option?
Still, she said, all avenues should be explored, since "if we do have to take offensive military action against Iran, it would be far better if the rest of the world saw it as a position of last resort, not first resort, because the effect and consequences will be global."
Ok, so if 12 years of sanctions and resolutions against Iraq wasn't enough for invasion to be "a position of last resort", what would be? Would we need UN approval?

Oh, I see what she did there!

Oakland resolutions condemn federal immigration raids

Because Oakland is a great place to live!

Here's an idea: If Oakland likes illegals so much, just send them all there! We'll see how the city does then.

ABC News: Pelosi Won't Attend Petraeus Briefing

First, the Democrats praise Petraeus, now, they can't be bothered to listen to anything he says. Just ask Harry Reid.

Well, I guess they have better things to do.

The Democrats are a god-damned embarrassment.

Report: China Will Pass U.S. As Polluter

So China will surpass the U.S. as a greenhouse gas polluter next year.

When do you think we'll give them (and China will accept) developed country status?
