Jeez. I'm tolerant of religion and all, but this is ridiculous. Intelligent Design is nothing more than a cop out, which assumes that, because we haven't found the ultimate answer, it's ok to just make one up. The one big fudge factor to balance the equation.
Face it, there isn't a controversy about evolution. It's been proven time and time again. It's a sad day for reasonable people everywhere when Intelligent Design to have much credence. I fear for the future of our young.

You say you are tolerant, but I doubt it. It takes faith to believe in creation, it takes much more faith to believe in evolution. Evolution has never been proven as you say, it is merely a theory with a foundation on shifting sand. I have noticed that to evolution zealots the facts don't matter.

Thanks for writing! I've always hoped that someone would read my blog.
Evolution is a theory based on observables and these observables have been borne out many, many times, so much so, they can be virutally considered fact. Sure, there have been tweaks, but that's what science is. Experimentation. There is no real faith needed to support it. I could go into a lab or a museum and see it in action. What I cannot do is to go to those same places and see Intelligent Design in action.
Besides, Intelligent Design is basically a presupposition of the origin of everything, while evolution is describing the process. While these things are almost different questions, the ultimate goal of evolutionary theory is to find that answer.
Anyway, all this is just opinion, and you're free to have yours. I just think that mine should win out! :)
