Gore may get doctorate

It seems like the University of Minnesota is hoping to award Al Gore with an honorary doctorate in climatology.

The reason?
"He's in the news and is a legitimate expert on a pressing issue of global concern, climate change, so this level of interest is understandable," Wolter said.

How can Al Gore be "an expert" when he has contributed nothing to climatology research? All he does is read the work of other actual researchers and regurgitate their work. Has he done any original work? Published in a peer reviewed journal? Does he have any more knowledge than a person with a Bachelor of Science would have? If not, then go ahead and award me an honorary doctorate in chemical engineering!

What a joke.
